Opportunities for Success
My November trip with YLH taught me a lot about business in Highlands County. I learned that just because we aren’t a huge city with millions of people, doesn’t mean that we don’t have opportunities for success. The visits to CitraPac, Florida Hospital, and Agero allowed me to see the possibilities that could exist for future jobs and careers.
My Horizons Have Been Broadened
Youth Leadership Highlands Class VIII went to Florida Hospital, CitraPac, the Sebring Soda Shop, and Agero on our Business and Health Care Day Out. On the first “day out”, for 2018-2019 class of Youth Leadership Highlands with the Mason G. Smoak Foundation, we visited Florida Hospital, Citra-Pak and Sebring Soda and Ice CreamShop. On our last day out, I had the opportunity to see parts of our community that I had never seen before. For example, we went to CitraPac and got to take a tour of their facility. By going there, I was able to expand my understanding of our community and learn that Highlands County is more than the “farm country” I thought it was before.
