Assisting the Community
At YLH on Social Services Day, I learned the importance of assisting the community for the better. This trip showed me many of the opportunities and resources available for the needy, elderly, and those with disabilities. Being aware of these needs in our environment is imperative for one to become a good leader. As leaders we are called to be cooperative, socially educated, and act with appropriate temperament. These aspects are essential and are what helps define a leader. The Heartland Horses is a perfect example of leadership. The service they provide for those with special needs demonstrates the availability, acceptance and heart they have for the who are challenged. With this in mind, it is important to stay socially aware of our community because it helps us become stronger in our leadership and make the community stronger in the long run too.
