Government and Education Day 2019

The government and education day was a lot of fun! We started the day off at the courthouse, listening to various speakers who had a lot of knowledge to share. Gaining their input was a great experience that opened up my mind to the law careers available near me. After that, we went to the Highlands County jail, where we received a lot of input about the inter-workings of a jail. We also were honored to spend time with the canine department and see some cool demonstrations. Later in the day, we traveled to South Florida State College’s mechatronics department. Here we were privileged to do various hands-on activities and learn about STEM careers. Overall, the government and education day was amazing and broadened my view of careers available to me.
