High School
My name is Ava Roberts and I am Hardee Senior High School’s Mason G. Smoak Foundation Scholarship recipient for 2025. I graduated from HHS as valedictorian, as well as from South Florida State College with my Associate of Arts degree and Summa Cum Laude. Throughout high school I was involved with various extracurricular activities including varsity track and cross country, National Honors Society, Student Council, and the Solar Go-Kart team. I also was an intern for First Christian Church of Wauchula where I learned the ins and outs of church ministry and where my passion for serving was ignited. I am entering my freshman year at the University of Florida, where I will be majoring in Biomedical Engineering. I plan to get involved with a church in Gainesville and serve as a youth leader. I am extremely grateful for the Mason G. Smoak Foundation and the contribution that they have provided to support my academic endeavors!
