Building Trust

March 12, 2020

My favorite part of the day was when we went into the woods at the Smoak Ranch to complete a trust exercise. When we entered the woods we stopped at a tree which had two chains locked around another tree. Two people had to stand on the chains and help each other to get to the other end. It taught me that I can have some level of trust in people even if I don’t know them very well. That is what I learned that day, and I don’t think that I will ever forget it. So far, through my YLH experience, I am learning that there are people who actually care about you that are not members of your family. The Mason G. Smoak Foundation is like one big family that supports one another even though we all have different backgrounds. I feel that the Mason G. Smoak Foundation has put that into perspective for me and I’m glad that I decided to go to participate in this program.
