Changed Perception

Honestly, I am not sure if this day can be beat. It was amazing to see how little Highlands County is so much more intricate and structured than it appears from a teenage mind. With the YLH program, we got to experience everything from forensic science experiments to the ins and outs of Highlands County Jail. Along with these fun activities, we got to listen to some really intelligent speakers such as Circuit Judge Angela Cowden, Sheriff Paul Blackman, and Highlands County Clerk of Courts Bob Germaine. The new things that we learned definitely changed our perception of the town we live in, and showed us how many good people we have working to protect it.
